Featured: Chris & Trudi

Many thanks to the folks over at Emmaline Bride (and naturally to Chris & Trudi) for featuring Chris & Trudi’s gorgeous downtown Bozeman wedding. They put together a beautiful day and it was just a blast to be there with them and shoot it.  Emmaline is a great resource for prospective brides interested in DIY and high-class ideas for planning and detailing their weddings.  Go check them out!

Married : Tera & Tevis

You gotta love these Montana winter weddings!  Meet Tera & Tevis.  These lovebirds sealed their love at the beautiful LDS Temple in Billings, Montana.  It was a beautiful day, and even though it was cold, they were good sports.  What a blast!

Trudi & Chris Tie the Knot!

Wow!  What a whirlwind couple of weeks it’s been!  First off, Happy New Year!  No, wait, Merry Christmas!  Whew, let’s just go ahead and kick off the first post of the new year with the (second to the) last wedding of 2010.  2010 was a great year for us, thanks to all for helping make it a reality.  Today it’s my pleasure to introduce you to Trudi and Chris.  These guys are great.  They were married at the Presbyterian Church on Babcock in downtown Bozeman.  The wedding was gorgeous, especially the reception, which took place at the Baxter Hotel.  Trudi & Chris (and family, I’m sure) did a great job putting together such a beautiful reception.  They both have about the nicest families anybody could ask for.  The really fun thing about this wedding is that the two lovebirds walked from the church to the reception, and it was SNOWING.  I mean snowing quite heavily.  As you may remember from the picture in their sneak peek post, this made for some SWEET pictures.  They were such troopers, and Trudi seemed to just be loving it as well, which is saying something for the bride on her wedding day.  ;-)  Anyways, take a look at the pictures and you’ll see what we mean when we talk about a fun wedding!

“Oh my goodness!!  They are so awesome! My mom cried when she look at them! =]”

Sneak Peek! Trudi & Chris

Oh boy, what a fall/winter! Sorry for the lengthy hiatus; I’ve been so swamped with school and finals and having a baby (!) – more on that later – that I’ve fallen way behind on here. Please bear with me and we’ll get caught up. In the meantime, here’s a little sneak peek to tide you over. Enjoy!

UPDATE: They’re married!

Idaho Star Trails

Here’s a fun star trail capture from my inlaws’ backyard from over the weekend.  The technique is so different than a lot of what we shoot.  Instead of the rapid succession don’t-miss-a-moment energy of a wedding, making one picture can take hours.  It kind of forces you to slow down and think; like about how crazy it is that we are on this little spinning ball in space.  :-)

Belated Independence Day

So I’ve been going through some not-so-recent work that unfortunately seems to never get done when there is no deadline.  :-)  I’m powering through some of it and thought I might share a couple of images from the Fourth of July fireworks.  Rachel and I both spent a lot of time in Idaho Falls growing up, and often go back for Independence day -  in part for family, and in part for fireworks.  Idaho Falls is pretty proud of it’s fireworks show, and they really are pretty good.  You may remember last year’s post on July 4th; it’s hard to believe a year has flown by so fast.  Anyways, here are a few from this years fireworks.

Peet’s Hill

I’ve spent a lot of time on Peet’s Hill lately in Bozeman.  It’s an interesting little escarpment of earth right in the middle of town that really serves as an intra-urban organic refuge. Every dog in Bozeman spends time with its owner here. It’s a cool spot, but it’s at night that it really comes alive. Here’s a few from a recent evening there I thought ya’ll might enjoy.

Southeast Idaho Lightning!

I don’t know if I’m cursed or what, but I hardly ever see lightning these days. It simply evades me. Finally a little lightning storm grazed the north edge of town when we visited my wife’s parents, but this is the best we could do. At least it’s something. Bring on the weather!

Independence Day ’08

God bless the USA!  Here are a couple snaps of a flag display and the fireworks on the Greenbelt in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
